interesting information time!

Remember last time when I gave you weird information that I thought was cool? Well, here I am reading my Color Theory textbook---

-While in the U.S., if you're 'blue', you're depressed, but in Germany you are blue when drunk; if you're blue in Finland, you're just short of cash. weird how everybody associated color with different meanings.

-It was once thought that the fat of a dead red-haired person (presumed to be of fiery temper) would make an excellent poison, and was in great demand as a primary ingredient to rid oneself as enemies. (it's not true...red-haired people don't have a bad temper! :D)

-What is the most favorited color in the U.S.??? BLUE! Men started wearing more blue shirts after Sean Connery appeared in a blue shirt as James Bond in 007.

now, wasn't that interesting? ;)

Whoever Says It's Easy

Whoever says flower arranging isn't hard is full of it! There are lots of steps in just putting together a corsage. It took almost 2 hours to design this in class. (keep in mind, a pro can do like 5 an hour) but still! props to the flower arranging peeps out there.

Don't Look Outside

At night (or early morning....) when I climb into my bed to fall asleep, I usually look out the window. Last night, it was snowing. I pulled out my phone and looked at pictures I had taken during the summer. It reminded me of warm weather, vacations, family and fun. This put me in a nice coma for the rest of the night :)Pictures I looked at:

Look What I Can Do!

The voice of MadTv's Stuart says it best, "Look What I Can Do!" :) Speaking of what I can do...In my floral arranging class we learned how to make bows out of floral ribbon. Not bows like tying your shoes, like LEGIT 'these go on the vase' bows. She told us to take a picture, because at the end of the semester we will laugh at ourselves. However, for the time being, i'm pretty proud of my newly learned bow tying skills :)

Odd Facts

Since school started, i've been learning some really cool stuff. I decided I would share it with the world every once in a while :) So...blog #1 on odd facts.


Whenever your rose has a perfectly straight stem, that means it was grown on the equator :) (via flower arranging, bro Romney)


When you're painting walls in your house, always tape a sample up and look at it very often throughout the day. The color changes because of the light in the room. It looks different at every time of day! If it's a warm color, in the summer the room will feel 2-3 degrees hotter, pyscologically. (via Color Theory, bro Parson)


The largest commercial building in the world is in Aalsmeer, Holland. (999,000 sq. meters)Guess what it's used for...flower auction! Instead of using trucks to transport the flowers, they're picked up, just like the doors in Monsters Inc & taken to a building across the road to ship them. This teacher of mine will often get flowers sent to BYUI from there to arrange the bouquets for the devotionals.


That's just a few...I will post stuff like this every once in a while...haha. I think it's awesome stuff.

- Learning to paint and draw from bro. Parson
- Being away from snow on April 9 & visiting Tar in Provo!
- A concert road trip with my friends from SLC
- Maybe finding a job I actually like this summer? suggestions? :)

Christmas Vacation

I got back up to BYUI last night...found my car like this:

Anyway...Christmas vacation was a lot of fun! On Jan. 1 we went out in the hills with family. Visited the sink hole & keyhole canyon and went shooting.

Oh, and today while I was buying my books, the power went out...as she was printing my receipt. It was out for a couple of hours. I hope this isn't a sign as to how this semester will go :/ Have you ever went food shopping in the dark? it's odd.
