The Olympics are done. I'm bummed. I don't know why i love them so much. Somehow I shall survive. . . some of my fav moments:

So...does anyone here do twitter? Well, I do...some of you may think it's lame...whatevs. i like it haha. Half the fun is trying to get a celebrity to "tweet" you back. lol. GUESS WHAT? GUESS WHAT? guess who tweeted me back!!! (have you guessed?) APOLO ANTON OHNO. Ya. i was excited, and still am! haha oh how i heart you apolo.

I'm Addicted

Does anyone else watch the ENTIRE primetime of the Olympics every night? Well, i do...and i'll admit that i'm addicted. And then there's Taryn, we text pretty much the entire time. Not about the details of the sports...it's more like "WOW, did u know Apolo's dad is oriental" or "Oh man, i just love shaun white, does my hair look like his?" or when Apolo just barely pushes enough to qualify for the finals (the whole time i'm biting my nails) then text her saying "weak sauce!" and she knows exactly what i'm talking about. Or how i flipped out when i saw Michael Phelps sitting in the audience. Hey mom, will you FedEx me my passport so i can go to Vancouver :)

p.s. did anyone see that video of the guy in the audience spreading condiments on his sandwich with a speed skate? haha awesome.

Design.

Today was a day full of DESIGN. This morning I attended a seminar by Armand Baltizaar who is a concept artist for Pixar. He designed characters and scenes in Prince of Egypt and Disney movies such as Princess and The Frog and Shark Tales. He is amazing! (My drawing classes are teaching me exactly what to do if I ever wanted to do something like this!) Then I went to another seminar by Dario Antonioni who is a designer in Los Angeles, owns a company called Orange22. Check out his work! He is a very driven man and has some unbelievable products out there. THEN tonight the Interior Design department held a Gala. The seniors showcased their work and Dario Antonioni did a Q&A with everyone. Busy day.

Successful...so far.

I decided this semester i was going to be more outgoing. I can't complain i have no social life if i'm a hermit crab. Soooooo i have been making a better attempt to go to parties, activities, attending FHE, just stepping outside of my box.
Results: it's working. I'm making more friends and having more fun. Go me :) Although, i hear the interior design program = no social life. It keeps you super busy, but i'm determined i can keep a healthy balance. ya?

Superbowl Sunday

Celebrated the Superbowl with some people from my ward...can you tell the winter sun (or the lack thereof) has done my skin good...? ;) Someone needs summer in Nevada.

Did you know...

Mesquitos are attracted to dark blue, red and brown. They avoid yellow, orange and white. If you're hiking, it would do you best to wear yellow, orange or white and avoid khaki or blue denim. Just FYI.

When building your house, a lighter colored roof will keep your rooms below cooler and conserve energy. White reflects the radiant energy rays of the sun and black absorbs them. Why does everyone in Logandale use dark shingles? For example: on a 90 degree clear day, a white roof has a temp of 110 degrees, an aluminum coated roof 140 degrees, and a black roof 190 degrees. "That makes quite a difference when it comes to heating and cooling bills", says my book :) If large metropolitan areas increased the reflectivity of roofs and surfaces in thier area, they could save $10 billion dollars in energy & equipment costs.

When meeting someone, a lasting impression is made within 90 seconds. Color accounts for 60% of the acceptance or rejection of an object or person.

There are 2 color bases of complexion: yellow based & blue based. Yellow based complexions look better in autumn colors, browns, turquoise, yellow-greens & accessories with a gold hue (which totally explains why i want a gold wedding ring! yes pleeeeeease :D hey, a girl can dream.) Blue based complexions look best in blues, bluish greens, bluish pinks, red, black, white and charcoal gray, with silver accessories.

Best Place In Town

If you're ever in Rexburg...let me know. I'll treat ya to THE BEST place in town. Tacos Tepitos...or as everyone calls it Taco Truck. The. best. mexican. food. ever. Just one of those construction-site-looking food trucks. However, in the winter...it turns into Taco Bus. A hollowed out school bus filled with goodness.
